Four rescued after boat gets stuck in river mud

Four people had to rescued after their inflatable hard-bottomed boat got stuck in mud on the river Tamar.

The coastguard was called out at about 1.30pm yesterday and scrambled a search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

The helicopter lit the area, to allow the coastguard team to rescue the foursome near Warleigh Point.

After being resecued they were treated by paramedics for the effects of the cold.
