Supporting the success of GBR Sailing at the 2008 Olympics the "Windsport Sailing and Watersports Centre" at Mylor Harbour, near Falmouth held a day of celebration and future sailing success from its training facility at Churchtown Farm, Mylor Harbour.

The Windsport Centre is part of the Mylor Harbour consortium that has been selected to provide additional training facilities for all countries and sailors in the run up to the 2012 Olympics. Windsport will host facilities for the smaller boats that require beach launching and rigging areas.

On Sunday the centre opened it doors with a display of selected boats used at the 2008 Olympics and those that will be sailed at the 2012 Olympics.

Ben Ainslie, GBR medal success, had his first ever sailing lessons with the Windsport instructor team when he was just eight years old and the "Windsport Coaching Team" has been responsible for a series of successful youth sailors in top level competition.

Brian Phipps National Sailing Coach and other successful youth medal sailors were on hand to talk visitors through the boats on display and what is involved in achieving Olympic success.
