THE Bartlett Library at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall is delighted to have received a run of the highly respected International Journal of Maritime History.

The International Journal of Maritime History is a publication for researchers concerned with the economic and social history of the merchant marines, shipbuilding, fishing, ports, trade and maritime societies.

The journals were part of the collection owned by Robert S. Craig - known as Robin throughout the maritime history community - who sadly died in June 2007. Robin Craig was a well and widely respected maritime historian, who dedicated his life to maritime historical research. Since his death his collection of books and maritime history material has been widely distributed to a number of maritime and academic institutions.

Museum trustee Tony Pawlyn said: "We at the Bartlett Library, National Maritime Museum Cornwall, are particularly delighted to have received a run of the International Journal of Maritime History. These publications will make a fantastic addition to the valuable resource that is the Bartlett Library."

The Bartlett Library houses a diverse collection of maritime reference books, periodicals and archive material for public consultation and reference. It is open free to the public for maritime research. Those wishing to make use of the library facilities should ask for directions at the Museum's enquiry desk in the entrance foyer. Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
