There's just one month left until the overall winner of the prestigious Royal Yachting Assocation (RYA) Club of the Year Award will be announced at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2012.

On Saturday March 3, the top five clubs will travel to the show held at Alexandra Palace, London to collect their finalist awards.

After what promises to be a "fun filled day" at the show the overall winner will be unveiled at 4:45pm on the Volvo Main Stage.

The shortlisted clubs were selected by the RYA Honours and Awards Panel who judged them on how well they promote the sport, encourage people onto the water and make their activities varied and available to their community.

RYA volunteer development officer Jackie Bennetts, who co-ordinates the awards, said: "We are delighted to announce this year’s RYA Club of the Year finalists who are all excellent; well run, vibrant and forward looking clubs, who really excel at what they set out to do.

"The Club of the Year Awards are a fantastic opportunity to highlight and promote all the good work clubs and their members put into keeping our sport alive."

This year’s five finalists are:

· - Chichester Yacht Club, Chichester Marina, West Sussex

- Hollowell Sailing Club, Hollowell Reservoir, Northamptonshire
