Over 60 years at sea has given Dag Pike experience of his fair share of maritime disasters and he will be sharing his personal tales of daring do on the high seas at a speaial lecture at the national Maritime Museum in Falmouth.
With personal tales of high-speed collisions, hurricanes, groundings, sinkings and fires the lecture will give visitors the true meaning of the phrase “worse things happen at sea.”
During his career Dag has been rescued ten times and taken part in 12 rescues of others. He has worked on Trinity House lighthouse tenders, for the RNLI as an Inspector of Lifeboats and has set records across the Atlantic. A prolific author, he has written 36 books including his autobiography and this talk will be based on his book Disasters at Sea, which relates many of his incredible experiences.
