Yacht designers from across globe visit Falmouth

A Falmouth yacht builder is hoping a visit by influential people in the trade will lead to more business.

The Superyacht UK Tour of Excellence came to Pendennis and Falmouth and included were 27 delegates from all over the globe. The group included captains, brokers, designers and naval architects from the superyacht industry. They spent the afternoon touring the Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth looking at the company's seven current projects.

That was followed in the evening by a UK industry showcase and dinner at Pendennis Castle, where 100 people gathered to network and socialise.

The tour was organised by the British Marine Federation and designed to showcase the 'best of British' in the superyacht industry. Previous visits have led to significant business for Pendennis Shipyard.

Meanwhile the 37m yacht Midnight, originally designed by Dubois and built in New Zealand in 2003 has arrived in Falmouth for a three month refit. She is now under a bubble tent and work is in progress.
