Ball raises money for tall ships

Falmouth Tall Ships Association held its second Tall Ships Ball at the Falmouth Hotel to raise funds for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta, which is to be held from September 10 - 13, this year in Falmouth.

The hotel provided a sumptuous buffet during which the jazz duo "Jumpin' Out" played and the magician Ed Clarke kept everyone guessing as he went from table to table.

The dance band was "Mood Indigo" working alongside Graham and Steve from "Platinum II".Jacqui Pender, organiser of the Tall Ships Ball and member of Falmouth Tall Ships Association said: "A most enjoyable evening, a huge thank you to everybody who supported the evening, and the event as a whole. We look forward to welcoming the tall ships to Falmouth in September."

Those attending, together with our sponsors, were very generous in their support - the tombola and auction made £715 and overall the evening raised £2729 towards the £10,000 the Falmouth Tall Ships Association has committed itself to raising for the Regatta.
