There was a good turnout of the IRC Class 1 Yachts for the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club’s annual Stewards’ Cup at the weekend. A slight breeze greeted competitors and a course of three rounds was set
in Carrick Roads, which allowed the race officer to shorten if the wind failed as it tends to in the evenings.

The sixth and final race of the Mylor Yahct Club Falmouth Boat Construction Series took place on Friday in a fresh Force 4 from the east, writes Chris Davis.
A total of 28 yachts competed and there was much to play for: The race, and the series, could be won or lost as a result of one mistake or fluky windshift. And so it proved.

The fourth race of the Mylor Yacht Club Falmouth Boat Construction Series took place on Friday in a fresh breeze from the south, writes Chris Davis, and,
unusually this week, just eighteen yachts competed. In E fleet, Freyja (Jackie Baker) commanded the race from start to finish, winning line honours on the water, coming home over five minutes ahead
of Gazelle (Andrew Nancarrow) and Otologic (Chris Horn) and nine minutes ahead of Rhapsody (Des Jones). However, once the handicaps had been factored in, Freyja's lead was reduced to just 56
seconds over Gazelle, with Rhapsody coming third.
